In 1779 John Newton wrote these words, and they couldn't be more true today. Grace. My favorite thing in the entire world. I've wanted to create this piece for so long, and I'm excited to finally share it with all of you! - See more at:

One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!”

But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,” he said, “since you are under the same sentence? We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.”

Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

- luke 23:39-43

about this piece

I cannot get over the beauty of this passage and these words, straight from Jesus' mouth. This print was originally designed to be released at Easter, but as I sat looking out my grey and snowy windows, it came to me that we could all probably use a reminder of paradise (and grace!) – any time of year! We love how the sketchy-vintagey look of this art plays with the tropical-inspired lettering for a retro look. Perfectly imperfect!
